Dr Mukul Sangma has elected Leader of the Congress Legislature Party in Meghalaya last night. He will be sworn in as Chief Minister of the state on Tuesday. <br/> <br/>Earlier on Monday, Mr D D Lapang resigned as Chief Minister after losing support of the majority of the Congress legislators in the Assembly. 25 of the total 28 Congress MLAs were present at the Congress Legislature Party meeting in Shillong when Dr Sangma was elected leader. <br/> <br/>AIR correspondent reports that Alliance partners of the Congress has described the developments in the state as an internal matter of Congress and said that they will continue their support to whoever may be elected as the leader of the Congress Legislature Party. <br/>
