Mukul Sangma sworn in as Meghalaya CM,Neiphiu Rio new CM of Nagaland

In Meghalaya, Dr. Mukul Sangma of the Congress was today sworn-in as the Chief Minister of the State for the second time.Governor, R.S. Mooshahary administered him oath of office and secrecy at the Raj Bhavan premises in Shillong in a simple function .Our correspondent reports that Dr. Mukul Sangma took oath of office and secrecy pledging allegiance to the Constitution of India, under the lush green pine trees and green grass, deviating from the normal practice of holding the swearing-in ceremony at the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan. The 47-year-old Dr.Mukul , who led the Congress to a spectacular victory with 29 seats, just two seats short of a simple majority in a house of 60 was sworn-in alone without his Council of Ministers.

In Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio of Naga People's Front ,NPF, led Democratic Alliance of Nagaland was sworn in for the third consecutive time as Chief Minister of the state along with eleven Ministers.

Our correspondent reports,Governor Nikhil Kumar administered the oath of office and secrecy to Rio and his cabinet ministers at Raj Bhavan Durbar Hall, in Kohima this morning.Our correspondent reports that in an impressive oath taking ceremony at the jam-packed Durbar Hall at Raj Bhavan, Kohima, Neiphiu Rio took oath as the Chief Minister of the Nagaland for a record third time. The 63-year-old Rio took the oath this morning as the state's 19th Chief Minister, in the presence of the legislators, State officials and other dignitaries. Other designated Ministers include Noke Konyak, T.R. Zeliang, G. Kaito, Imkong L Imchen, Khuzolozo Neinu, Keyaneilie Peseyie, Y. Patton, C.M. Chang, E.E. Pangteang, S. Pangnyu Phom and including the 32 year old youngest legislator Merentoshi R. Jamir.
Meanwhile, swearing-in of Parliamentary Secretaries and others will be held at the State banquet hall at 3 this afternoon.
