In Meghalaya, Dr. Mukul Sangma of the Congress was today sworn-in as the Chief Minister of the State for the second time.Governor, R.S. Mooshahary administered him oath of office and secrecy at the Raj Bhavan premises in Shillong in a simple function . The 47-year-old Sangma, who led the Congress to victory with 29 seats, just two seats short of a simple majority in a house of 60, was sworn-in alone without his Council of Ministers. Congress has already got an unconditional support from two Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and eight Independents for the formation of the Congress led Government in Meghalaya.
