Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee is taking stock performance of banks on Credit – Deposit ratio with the Chief ministers of all Eastern and North eastern states in Patna.<br/> Chief Ministers of Bihar and West Bengal are also attending the meetings. A representative of Jharkhand government and heads of public sector financial institutions are also participating in this meeting. <br/> AIR Patna correspondent reports that Pranab Mukherjee is scheduled to hold deliberations on ways and means to accelerate credit flow in eastern region states to unlock their development potential and thereby, fast forward the growth progress. <br/> The meeting assumes significance as it will discuss the progress of various public sector banks on centrally sponsored schemes, state wise flow of credit to the agricultural sector besides progress on financial inclusion and loan to weaker sections of society. <br/> The feedback and suggestions of chief Ministers will be considered for widening the reach of banking system in the states so that they can catch up with rest of the nations.
