NSCN-IM on Friday said that it will wait till the Center creates a congenial situation for the safe passage of its General Secretary T Muivah to his native village in Manipur’s Ukhrul district. Addressing media persons at Viswema village, where Muivah is now camping since Wednesday en-route to Ukhrul, senior NSCN IM functionary Phungthing said that on the request from Prime minister’s office, the outfit has decided to wait for center’s response on the matter till the present situation settles down. <br/> <br/>Phungthing, who is also the Convernor of cease fire monitoring cell, however, asserted that general secretary is determined to visit his native village Somdal at any cost. Mr. Phungthing said that now the ball is in center’s court and it is up to the government of India to handle the situation and ensure safe passage of their leader. Meanwhile, after the incident at Mao Gate under Manipur's Senapati district, hundreds of panic-stricken villagers from other side of the border have entered nearby villages in Nagaland and are seeking shelter there. In a related development, the chief minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio yesterday visited the injured of Mao incident at the Naga hospital in Kohima and enquired about their conditions. The Chief Minister, accompanied by other senior ministers, assured all possible help to the patients. <br/> <br/>As reported earlier, two students died and scores were injured when Manipur police on the 6th of May resorted to tear gas shelling and open firing on protest demonstrators at Mao gate in interstate border. Addressing a press conference late last evening after his arrival from New Delhi, State Chief Minister Mr. Neiphiu Rio said that the incident was an unfortunate turn of event amounting to lost of innocent and precious lives. He lamented that such horrific incident had to happen in the most democratic country and expressed discontentment on the misuse of government machineries by the Manipur police going to the extent of killing. <br/> <br/>The Chief Minister also informed the press that he had requested the NSCN IM leader Mr Muivah to consider postponing his visit to his native village till the situation stabilized. Meanwhile, Naga Mothers’ Association has called for a peace rally at the Nagaland Border Khuzama village near the Moa gate since 11 am this morning where hundreds of naga women from all walks of life has gathered to express their solidarity to the people, particularly to those who have been affected in the 6th May Nagaland-Manipur Mao gate incident. <br/>
