On the other hand, the Manipur Government stepped up security measures at Mao gate to thwart the entry of the Naga leader into the state fearing breach of communal harmony in Manipur. In a hurriedly convened press briefing at NSCN-IM headquarters last night, Muivah said he would go ahead with his planned visit to his native village and it was already agreed upon by the Centre. Muivah said he fail to understand as to why the Manipur Government objected to his visit when the Government of India Okayed the same. In a related development, armed miscreants yesterday set ablaze and damaged five goods-laden trucks bound for Manipur at Khuzama village yesterday.
