The moon of Muharram has been sighted in different parts of Uttar Pradesh. In Lucknow, moon visibility confirmation committees of both Shia and Sunni sects, confirmed the sighting yesterday.

With beginning of Muharramul-Haram, the first month of Islamic Calendar, new year of Hijri year 1434 has also started. Therefore 'Ashura' or 10th day of Muharram will be observed on Sunday November 25.
