Yaum-e-Ashura or tenth Day of Muharram is being observed across the country today to commemorate the supreme sacrifice of Imam Husain, the grandson of Prophet Muhammad. Tazias will be buried in Karbalas this afternoon.

Majlis-e-shaam-e-ghariban will be held after the sunset and burial of tazias.
In Uttar Pradesh, Strict security arrangements have been made for peaceful observance of the Yaum-e-ashura in the wake of anniversary of the demolition of disputed structure at Ayodhya.

Additional security forces have been deployed in Varanasi, Ayodhya and Gorakhpur.
