Mughal motor rally begins in J&K

With a view to exploit the adventure tourism potential of Jammu and Kashmir, first Motor Sports rally of Mughal Road-2010 at national- level will be held from 24th of this month. The four-day rally is being organised by Himalayan Motor Sports and sponsored by Tourism Department in which 40 top national level Motor rallyists will participate. This was stated by the Minister for Tourism and Culture Nawang Rigzin Jora at a high-level meeting of officers convened to discuss the arrangements for making the event a successful.<br/><br/>The rally will traverse through Srinagar, Kishtwar, Patnitop, Mansar, Suransar, Jammu, Rajouri, Bufliaz, Peer-ki-Gali, Shopian and Srinagar. The Government has also plans to operate Inter State Air Safari service to various tourist destinations of the State. <br/><br/>In the first instance these service would be operated for visiting pilgrim sites of Shiv- Khori and Mata Vashno Devi, Katra in Jammu and over viewing natural beauty of Srinagar and Phalgam in Kashmir. Speaking on the occasion, Jora stressed upon the officers to ensure proper coordination to make the event as a success adding that the event will give tremendous fillip and boost to the tourism, trade and commerce in the State.
