Mughal Garden opens for public from Tuesday

President Mrs Pratibha Devi Singh Patil threw open the Mughal Gardens of Rashtrapati Bhavan for public viewing today. The Gardens will be open to the General Public from tomorrow till 16 March between 10 AM to 5 PM on all days except on Mondays. This year the theme is Basanti and there is splash of yellow color to reflect the spring season. Vertical garden and Bonsai garden are two new editions. OSD for President's garden Mr Nigam Prakash said that Vertical Garden is new concept of developing floral wall and is especially suited for houses with space constraints. More than 200 varieties will be on display in the Bonsai garden. Apart from this more than 125 varieties of Roses and flowers like tulips, dhalias, pansies and lillies are on display. This time the month long annual viewing has been rechristened as Rashtrapati Bhavan Udyanotsav. Also this time the visitors can take with them the a variety of souveniers ranging from key chains, t-shirts and pen stands.
