Mugabe to be sworn in as Zimbabwe President for 7th term

Robert Mugabe is to be sworn in for the seventh term as the President of Zimbabwe. A public holiday has been declared today to allow supporters of the 89-year-old to attend the ceremony in a sports stadium in Harare. The ceremony had been delayed by a court petition filed by his main rival, Morgan Tsvangirai, over allegations of widespread electoral fraud. But the Constitutional Court dismissed the case, declaring Mr Mugabe's re-election free, fair and credible.
Mugabe won with 61 per cent of the Presidential vote against 34 per cent for Tsvangirai on 31st July. The outgoing Prime Minister and opposition leader Tsvangirai said, he will not attend the inauguration ceremony.
