In Sikkim, Bindhya Rai and Sarika Rai have been selected for the National Level Muay Thai Championship. These young players who won gold medals in the recently held State Level Muay Thai Championship, have been practicing this art only for three months under the guidance of young coach Bidhyawati Rai of Kopchey Namchi. The 2nd State Level Amateur Muay Thai Championship 2012 was held at Saint Francis School Jorethang South Sikkim in the last week of December 2012. The team Kopchey Warriors from Namchi participated with 8 players. The team won 2 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 4 bronze medals in the tournament.
