Government says that tariff scheme of 1 paise per second on mobile services of BSNL and MTNL will soon be made available in India. Talking to reporters, the minister for communications and IT, Mr A. Raja said Indian Telecom sector has registered 44% growth. He said that public sector telephoney has reached 500 million subscribers in India. Mr. Raja expressed concern over low bands of spectrum especially in rural India. Talking about a joint association of private and public sectors in this vital sector he said this will lead to increase the tele- density to around 40% in the rural India.The Communication and Manufacturing Association of India (CMAI) has urged the government to establish mobile consumer courts to address consumer's grievances. Official sources said that Union law ministry has agreed to consider this proposal.
