MSRTC Strike: No signs of reconciliation between employees of MSRTC and State govt

Even after 22 days of strike, there are no signs of reconciliation between the employees of Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation – MSRTC and the state government. Thousands of employees continue to stay under the open skies in Mumbai's Azad Maidan as a mark of protest, waiting for the assurance that MSRTC will be merged with the state government and the employees will be treated on par with state government staff.
''
''Subsequently, state transport minister Anil Parab held a meeting with Leader of Opposition in the state assembly Devendra Fadnavis at his residence today. Stating that the government must act fast to end the impasse, Mr. Fadnavis shared his suggestions as to how the merger can actually be effected. Later, a delegation of striking workers also met Mr. Fadnavis to explain the dire state of affairs. He assured the delegation of BJP's support and said the party will work with the government to find a solution at the earliest.
''
''MSRTC has so far suspended more than 2000 employees while another 2300 daily wagers have been issued termination notices for participating in the strike.
