Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Kalraj Mishra has stressed upon the quality of products of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises. Speaking during the Make in India Week in Mumbai today, he said that the government is trying to provide all types of facilities to this sector under ease of doing business. He said that Micro Small and Medium Enterprises are playing an important role in the economic growth of the country. Now, his ministry's focus is on start ups. Terming Micro Small and Medium Enterprise as essence of Make in India, Mr. Mishra said that the process of registration of units has been simplified and different schemes have been made available for innovation and modernization and providing cheap raw material.Mr. Mishra said that it is mandatory for public undertakings to buy 20 per cent of their requirement from iMicro Small and Medium Enterprises. He informed that over two lakh 25 thousand registrations have been made on the online portal for setting up Micro Small and Medium Enterprises.He said that the government has planned to set up 500 incubation centres and focus is on development of 51 clusters.
