M’rashtra to directly recruit sportsmen in govt jobs

In order to encourage sportsmen in Maharashtra, the state Government has come out with a policy to directly recruit them instead of going the public service commission way.Sports Minister Suresh Shetty said on Wednesday that a committee would be formed soon under the Chief Secretary for recommending names of the sportsmen for Government or semi-Government jobs. The decision was taken at the cabinet meeting held in Mumbai enabling the Government to directly recruit the sports persons who are performing well. Chief Minister Ashok Chavan has already promised to offer class one officers' job for the state players who have won medals in the Delhi Commonwealth Games. They were felicitated by the Chief Minister in the evening.
