M'rashtra Ministers asked to stop honking & avoid fire crackers

In its initiative to fight problem of rising pollution, Maharashtra Environment Department has recommended the ministers to cut down honking and avoid use of fire crackers in official programmes. Environment Minister Suresh Shetty informed the Legislative Council in Mumbai. <br/><br/>The Department's effort is to reduce noise and air pollution which is connected to the global warming problem, Shetty said while replying to a discussion on global warming and its impact on the environment. <br/><br/>Shiv Sena MLC Deepak Sawant raised the issue of global warming and its impact on the environment. The minister proposed to set up committees at every district, comprising members of the state Legislature, NGOs and local activists.<br/>
