M'rashtra govt drops charges against Naidu; TDP Chief refuses to leave the state

Maharashtra Government today ordered withdrawal of cases against TDP Chief, N. Chandrababu Naidu and his supporters including MPs and MLAs. They have been permitted to proceed to Hyderabad by a Chartered Plane but Mr. Naidu refused to leave the State. They have been forcibly shifted from Dharmabad to Aurangabad this morning by Maharashtra police.Earlier, Mr. Naidu and his followers were remanded to judicial custody till 26th of July by Dharmabad Court after they refused to furnish a personal bond for the release. The TDP Supremo and his supporters were arrested by Maharashtra Police for defying prohibitory orders and trying to cross the Maharashtra-Andhra Pradesh border to inspect the Babli Irrigation Project in Nanded district of Maharashtra. Meanwhile, the TDP has demanded the Centre to intervene and allow them to visit Babli project and release its leaders unconditionally. Demanding an apology from Maharashtra Government, Party senior leaders have sought a judicial probe into the lathi-charge against the agitating TDP delegation. TDP activists have launched protest demonstrations across Andhra Pradesh against alleged ill-treatment meted out to their leaders by Maharashtra Government.Meanwhile, Chief Minister K Rosaiah has condemned the lathi-charge on the TDP leaders while shifting them from Dharmabad.Appealing to people to observe restraint over sensitive inter state issues such as Babli, he said the Government is committed to protect the state interests by presenting the views before the Prime Minister through an all party delegation on 23rd of this month. He appealed that all parties should cooperate with the Government and not to damage public property.
