Deputy Chief Minister and senior NCP leader Ajit Pawar has said Maharashtra government is contemplating a ban on gutka and pan masala products. He was speaking at the the launch of Rashtravadi Yuvati Congress (RYC), on the occasion of the 13th anniversary of the Sharad Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party in Mumbai on Sunday.Mr. Pawar said that the state government would face a loss of Rs 100 crore in tax from gutka and pan masala, however it would be worth compromising for the lives of youths in the state. He said that the proposal would soon be put before the Cabinet, and the state government will soon bring in legislation in this regard.
