After a two week long bargaining over portfolio-sharing, the Congress and the NCP have finally reached an agreement to form a new government in Maharashtra. The Chief Minister designate of Maharashtra Mr. Ashok Chavan and the AICC in charge of the state, Defense Minister Mr. A.K Antony today met the Congress President Mrs Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi to discuss the cabinet formation. Later Mr Chavan told reporters that the list of ministers will come out only after the high command approves. It is expected that in the evening Mr Chavan will meet Governor S C Jamir to stake claim for Government formation. The swearing-in ceremony is likely to take place tomorrow.
