Mr.Giriraj Singh calls for curbing uncontrolled growth of population

Union Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Mr. Giriraj Singh today called for curbing uncontrolled growth of population through a uniform policy for all citizens.<br/> <br/>Addressing the media persons, the Minister said that there should be a common population policy, strictly applicable to all the citizens, so as to maintain social harmony and achieve all-around growth. <br/><br/>He asserted that till we chalk out and execute plans for controlled growth of population, no real development can take place. Mr. Singh was in Mumbai today to review the progress of projects undertaken by his Ministry. <br/><br/>Advocating the need to redefine the term minority, Mr. Singh said that it has been over 68 years since India got freedom, and now the time has come to lay down parameters to call a particular community minority, keeping in mind their population in respective localities.<br/><br/>The Minister said that there are several villages, blocks, tehsils, and districts where over 70 per cent the population belongs to a particular community, but they enjoy minority status. <br/><br/>This should be done away with<br/>He also slammed the Congress for its conduct during the recently concluded Winter Session of Parliament and said that it was very unfortunate. He said the Congress held Parliament hostage and tried to block Narendra Modi's efforts to put the country on the fast track of development.
