Members of Parliament will get enhanced daily allowances and travel facilities from this month onwards. Official sources say a member of Parliament is entitled to daily allowance of two thousand rupees during Parliament Session besides 16 rupees per Km for travel. The other facilities being provided include MPs spouses can now travel in first class air conditioned or executive class train from their residence to Delhi and back. This is the maximum number of such journeys in a year has been restricted to eight. The MPs are also entitled to a conveyance advance of four lakh rupees. Their salary and pension has also been substantially increased. MPs get now 50 thousand rupees as salary and former MPs 20 thousand rupees as their pension.
