Members of Parliament paid floral tributes at the portrait of former Lok Sabha Speaker, K. S. Hegde in the Central Hall of Parliament House on his birth anniversary today.

The Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Rajiv Shukla and senior BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani paid tributes to Mr. Hegde. The Secretaries General of Lok Sabha, T K Viswanathan and Dr V K Agnihotri also paid tributes to the former Speaker.

On this occasion, a booklet containing the profile of Hegde, brought out in Hindi and English by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, was also presented to the diginitaries.

AIR Correspondent reports that Hegde was elected as the Speaker of Lok Sabha in July 1977 following resignation of Dr. Neelam Sanjiva Reddy to contest election for the President of India.
