In Madhya Pradesh, people of Sarangi village in tribal dominated Jhabua district are now using CCTV cameras to keep vigil against frequent incidents of theft. Our Indore correspondent reports that Sarangi is perhaps the first village of the state to use this new technology for security.Sarangi village is the live example of communication boom in India. Perturbed by the increasing cases of theft incidents, villagers here have started using CCTV cameras to keep vigil against such incidents. The villagers collected five lakh rupees through public participation and installed 90 CCTV cameras in the village. They also constructed a recording room. The villagers hope that this will deter thieves to a great extent.
