In Madhya Pradesh, the state government has decided to recommend a CBI inquiry into the murder of Bhopal’s RTI activist Shehla Masood. AIR correspondent reports that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has issued directives to the home department officials in this regard. The central government will be requested to order a CBI inquiry in Shehla Masood murder case. She was shot dead in her car in front of her house on Tuesday. The district police are still clueless about the identity of killers and motive behind the killing. Relatives of Shehla Masood have alleged that a section of police officials is trying to depict her murder as a suicide case. Social activists, political parties and other sections have also demanded a CBI inquiry into the killing. Shehla had filed several RTI applications to expose corruption or misadministration in various departments.
