In Madhya Pradesh the preparations for electronic payment of wages to the labourers for Mahatma Gandhi Rashtriya Gramin Rozgar Guarantee Yojna are in full speed. Vidisha district of the state has been selected as a pilot project for electronic payment of wages. Our correspondent reports that the scheme will be implemented in other districts too.Under this scheme, the details of work done by labourers in MNREGA , would be maintained in an electronic measurement book through the electronic fund management system to facilitate direct payment in their accounts. Besides this, the work valuation of labourers will also be done by this system. After this exercise the amount of the wages will be deposited directly in the bank accounts of the labourers, through electronic transfer. This arrangement will not only save the time, but also ensure early payment of wages to labourers with transparency.
