In Madhya Pradesh, lawyers are on a day's strike across the state today. They are protesting against hike in the court fees by the state government for appeals in the motor accident claims cases. The State Bar Council has asked the lawyers to abstain from the courts. The Bar Chairman Shivendra Upadhyay said that the deprived people would be unable to file appeals as they would have to pay 10 per cent court fees for the claims they demand. AIR Correspondent reports that work of Bhopal District and Session’s court has been affected due to the strike.
