In Madhya Pradesh one of the seven prisoners, who escaped from the Khandwa jail early this morning, has been arrested. The police have declared high alert in Khandwa and Indore. Confirming the jail break, SP Khandwa Manoj Sharma said they would be arrested soon.
Our Bhopal correspondent reports that the six of the seven escaped undertrial prisoners were members of terror outfit Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI). The prisoners reportedly sneaked out at around 3 am, after breaking the wall of a toilet, and scaling the boundary wall of the jail.Two constables who tried to stop the prisoners were wounded after being attacked with knives. The prisoners reportedly snatched their rifles. The seven convicts were in jail in connection with the murder of an ASI and a bomb blast at a local hospital in Khandwa.
