In Madhya Pradesh, the indefinite strike of junior doctors has entered the seventh day today. Our Bhopal correspondent reports that the strike has deteriorated health services in government hospitals affiliated with medical colleges in Bhopal , Indore , Jabalpur , Gwalior and Rewa. Although the state government has made some alternative arrangements but they are not proving sufficient enough to solve the problems of the patients. Several deaths have been reported in these hospitals in the last seven days but the health authorities have claimed that they were routine deaths. A group of junior doctors is expected to meet chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in Bhopal this afternoon. State government sources said that efforts are on to convince junior doctors to return to work. One of their demands to reduce the numbers of years of mandatory service in rural areas to one from two has been agreed to.
