The Madhya Pradesh cabinet has increased the monetary grants given to gallantry awards recipients of army belonging to the State. Our Bhopal correspondent reports, these awards include Param Vir Chakra, Ashok Chakra, Mahavir Chakra, Kirti Chakra, Veer Chakra, Shaurya Chakra and Yudhh Seva Medal. As per the decision, a lump sum amount of 20 lakh rupees would be given to Param Vir Chakra winners in lie of land and five thousand per month. Similarly the Ashok Chkra recipient will get twenty lakh rupees lump sum in lie of land and four thousand rupees per month. The Mahavir Chakra and Kirti Chakra, recipients will be given 12 lakh rupees and a monthly pension of four thousand and two thousand five hundred rupees respectively. Vir Chakra and Shaurya Chakra recipients will be given 8 lakh. The grants being given to recipients of Uttam Seva Medal, Yudh Seva Medal, Sena , Nau Sena, Vayu Sena Medals are also increased. It is also decided in the case of posthumous Shaurya Medals awardees that out of their grant money 35 percent will be given to the widow, 35 percent to children and the rest 30 percent to the parents.
