MP High Court directs Centre to take permission from MPCB

Madhya Pradesh High Court in Jabalpur has directed the Centre to take the permission of the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board,MPCB, before disposing of toxic waste from the defunct Bhopal Union Carbide factory at the DRDO facility near Nagpur. Maharashtra government had opposed the proposed disposal near Nagpur, following local protest. The direction was given by the division bench of Justices U.C. Maheshwari and S. Harkoli on Thursday, on the PIL about the disposal of Carbide waste, filed by noted social worker Alok Pratap Singh.
