In Madhya Pradesh, the state government has decided to form a separate agriculture cabinet. AIR Bhopal correspondent reports that the new cabinet would deal exclusively with the agriculture related issues. The agriculture cabinet is being formed to fulfill chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s resolution to make agriculture a profitable proposition in the state. Agriculture and agriculture related Departments which include horticulture, water resources, energy and some other departments would be part of this cabinet. First meeting of the agriculture cabinet will be held on 18 June at Jawaharlal Nehru Agriculture University Jabalpur. A decision is likely to be taken at the meeting if agriculture budget be presented separately in the state assembly. The state government has also decided to observe agriculture festival from 25th September to 12th October.
