MP Govt. starts Sanjha Chulha Yojna

The Madhya Pradesh government has started Sanjha Chulha Yojna (Common Kitchen Facility Scheme) for providing hot and nutritious food to the Anganwadi kids, pregnant and lactating mothers. The Yojna will supplement the mid-day meal scheme. Under the scheme, about 81 thousand Anganwadis will be covered by kitchens run by women self-help groups, which have already been providing mid-day meals to primary and middle school students. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan described the Sanjha Chulha Scheme as a revolutionary beginning for eradicating malnutrition in the state. He said that the mid-day meal scheme in schools and distribution of nutritious diet at Anganwadis are part of government’s efforts to attract children to schools and for the removal of malnutrition. Mr. Chouhan said that combining the schemes would help in proper monitoring, improvement of quality and to curb corrupt practices.
