MP govt orders judicial probe into IPS officer killing

The Madhya Pradesh Government has ordered a judicial probe to inquire into the murder of IPS Officer Narendra Kumar in Banmore area of Morena district. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said in Bhopal today that the Madhya Pradesh High Court has requested to appoint a judge for the probe. Mining mafia had killed SDOP Narendra Kumar in Banmore area of Morena district on Thursday. AIR Bhopal Correspondent reports that ruling BJP and opposition Congress have engaged in verbal duel over the murder of young IPS officer, illegal mining and deteriorating law and order situation in the state.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today said that the state government has launched a campaign against illegal mining and this campaign will continue. On the other hand alleging failure of law and order in the state, opposition congress has demanded resignations of chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and home minister Umashankar Gupta. Congress has also given a bandh call on Tuesday on this issue.

Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh has demanded a judicial inquiry to probe illegal mining in Madhya Pradesh and mining contracts given by the state BJP government since 2004. He alleged that the BJP government has given mining contracts to outsiders who have relations with BJP leaders and not to local people.
