In Madhya Pradesh, the state cabinet has decided to double the honorarium of Anganwadi workers and assistants.AIR Bhopal correspondent reports that the State Government will have to bear an additional burden of about 22 crore 40 lac rupees due to the increase in honorarium.Anganwadi workers will now get three thousand rupees per month as honorarium instead of 1500 rupees while anganwadi assistants and sub-workers will get 1500 rupees instead of 750 rupees per month.There are more than one lac 50 thousand anganwadi workers in the state.The state cabinet has also decided to provide two saris each to all the Anganwadi workers and assistants every year. Money at the rate of 200 rupees per sari will be deposited in their bank accounts.The state government has also approved a proposal to provide ready to eat food to the children of Anganwadis for five years.
