In Madhya Pradesh, the state cabinet has approved implementation of National Optical Fiber Network Project. AIR correspondent reports that this project will provide broadband connectivity of 100 ABPS at Gram Panchayat-level.The project will ensure effective implementation of rural development programmes, e-governance works and electronic delivery of public services. Connectivity gap between development blocks and Gram Panchayats will also come to an end. All service providers will have impartial access to this network. October 2012 has been set as the deadline for the project’s implementation.
