In Madhya Pradesh, a one day special session of the state Legislative Assembly will be convened on the 27th of this month to reinstate the membership of two expelled Congress MLAs, Choudhry Rakesh Singh and Kalpana Parulekar. The membership of both the members was terminated last Wednesday as the House passed a motion in this connection during the Monsoon session. The Speaker of the state Legislative Assembly, Ishwar Das Rohani today said in Bhopal that both the members have regretted their conduct in the House in letters written to him. Mr. Rohani said that Governor Ramnaresh Yadav has given his assent to convene the special session.Choudhry Rakesh Singh and Kalpana Parulekar along with some other members, had climbed on the podium in the House last Tuesday during Congress’ demand on a discussion over corruption related issues. Later, state’s Legislative Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra had presented a resolution to terminate the membership of Choudhry Rakesh Singh and Kalpana Parulekar that was passed by voice vote.
