MP assembly adjourned twice over attack on Digvijay Singh

In Madhya Pradesh, the proceedings of the state legislative assembly were adjourned twice on Monday as the opposition Congress demanded a discussion on attacks on former Chief Minister and Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh by BJP and RSS workers in Ujjain and Shajapur on Sunday. AIR Bhopal correspondent reports that the House will discuss the issue on Tuesday. The Question Hour could not take place in the House as the Congress Members strongly protested attacks on Digvijay Singh and raised slogans against BJP and RSS. Demanding a debate on the issue under adjournment motion, they gathered near the Podium. The House also witnessed heated arguments between BJP and Congress members. The Speaker Ishwardas Rohani adjourned the House first for fifteen minutes and then half an hour. The issue settled when after the intervention of chief minister Shivraj Singh, the Speaker said the House will discuss the issue on Tuesday. BJP members had staged demonstrations against Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh in Ujjain and Shajapur yesterday during his visits to these places. They were protesting against his recent remarks that he did not rule out involvement of any group or organization in the Mumbai blasts. In Ujain, Congress and BJP workers clashed with each other. BJP members also attacked a hotel that was to be inaugurated by Mr. Singh. AIR correspondent reports, BJP workers also attacked the motorcade of Digvijay Singh in Shajapur.
