In Madhya Pradesh, Monsoon session of the state assembly was adjourned sine die today over VYAPAM controversy, nine days before the scheduled time. The session which began on Monday was scheduled till 31 of this month.

The Monsoon session of the legislative assembly faced complete washout over VYAPAM controversy. No discussion could take place in the house and not a single question could be raised. However, the House passed five bills and first supplementary budget for the current financial year today without any discussion amid pandemonium. Out of these two bills were tabled and passed today itself. As soon as the house met today, BSP members came in the well demanding resignation of chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan over VYAPAM. They had an altercation with BJP MLA Narendra Kushwah, who was seen rushing towards them aggressively.

BSP members alleged that Mr. Kushwah showed a slipper to them in the House, an allegation which was denied by Mr. Kushwah later. Proceedings were adjourned twice on the issue. When the proceedings resumed again, Congress members sat in the well demanding Mr. Chouhan's resignation on VYAPAM. After finishing today's business, Speaker Sitasaran Sharma adjourned the proceedings sine die. Congress members sat on dharna in the assembly premises after the adjournment. The last two days were also marred by the VYAPAM controversy.
