In Madhya Pradesh, five percent seats of agriculture colleges will be reserved for children of farmers. Announcing this in the Students Panchayat held in Bhopal on Thursday, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, agriculture education will be given importance on par with medical education in the state. He said that the state government will set up a student welfare fund with an initial amount of 50 crore rupees and also constitute a Youth Commission. This Youth Commission will work in areas of education, sports and youth welfare. Mr. Chouhan said that development cells for women will be constituted in all the colleges. Selected students across the state participated in the students Panchayat held at the Chief Ministers residence.
