Madhya Pradesh stands fourth in the country in the implementation of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGA).Madhya Pradesh stands fourth in the country in the implementation of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGA). Our Bhopal correspondent reports over 17 thousand 730 crore rupees have been spent on basic development works and villagers' upliftment in the state under the scheme since its inception.Under MNREGA, more than 9 lakh 78 thousand works have been undertaken in the state. Employment worth 132 crore man days has been provided to rural labourers. Several novel schemes of community development like Meenakshi, Kapildhara, Nandan Falodhan have also been launched in the state's rural areas through MNREGA. Scheme's better implementation and constant monitoring have not only given a new dimension to economic development of rural areas, but have also checked migration of rural labourers.
