In Madhya Pradesh, polling for the second phase of panchayat elections passed off peacefully today. Our Bhopal correspondent reports that despite intense cold conditions across the state voters turned up in a large number to exercise their franchise.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that about 75 percent polling has been reported in over seven thousand village panchayats of 101 blocs. Large queues of voters were seen in almost all the rural areas. Polling was held for over seven thousand posts of sarpanchs and over one lac 17 thousand posts of panchs. Barring few incidents of violence in Morena, Bhind, Tikamgarh and some other districts polling remained by and large peaceful. In some places polling was postponed due to errors in ballot papers.
