MP: 27 candidates in fray for Damoh assembly by-election

<span style="color: #222222;">In Madhya Pradesh, there is a direct contest between the ruling BJP and the Congress in the April 17 by-election for the Damoh assembly seat.<br />'' </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">A total of 27 candidates are in the fray in the Damoh assembly by-election. The main contest is between BJP's Rahul Singh Lodhi and Congress candidate Ajay Kumar Tandon. Some local parties like Sapaks Party and Bundelkhand Kranti Dal are also contesting elections while around 20 independents are also trying their fate.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">About 2 lakh 40 thousand voters will decide the fate of these candidates in Damoh seat. Among them, there are 1 lakh 24 thousand are male and 1 lakh 15 thousand are female. Around 27 per cent of the voters are between 18 to 29 years age group. </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and Union Minister Prahlad Patel have taken over the command of BJP's campaign in Damoh seat. Mr. Patel is a sitting MP from Damoh .</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">At the same time, former Chief Minister Kamal Nath and Digvijay Singh are leading the congress campaign.</span><br />''  <br />
