Mozambique Prez visit: Enhancing bilateral co-operation in trade, economy will top agenda

Discussions on enhancing bilateral co-operation in the fields of trade and economy will top the agenda when the visiting Mozambique President Armando Guebuza meets the Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh in New Delhi tomorrow. Agreements on human resources, energy, mining, defence co-operation, information technology, science and technology and agriculture are also to be signed between the two countries following delegation-level talks. Our Correspondent reports that India is the third largest partner of Mozambique in bilateral trade. The bilateral trade has doubled in the last five years and reached half a billion dollars. The visiting dignitary will also call on the Vice President, the UPA Chairperson and leader of the Opposition besides attending a banquet in his honour by President Pratibha Devisingh Patil. He will be given a ceremonial reception at the forecourts of Rashtrapati Bhawan tomorrow.This is Armando Guebuza's maiden visit to the country as President. He had visited India in 2003 as Minister of Transport.He arrived in New Delhi this evening on a five day state visit. Guebuza will also visit Ahmedabad and Mumbai.
