Movie 'Power of Dog', by Jane Campion screened at 52nd edition of IFFI

The mega film extravaganza, India International film Festival is in full swing at Panjim. Movie Power of Dog starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Kirsten Dunst had its Indian Premiere tonight at the 52nd edition of IFFI. It is directed by Ms Jane Campion.<br />” <br />” Indian Panorama’s Non Feature segment today featured Tamil movie Sweet Biryani, Bengali movie Sainbari To Sandeshkhali and Sunpat in Garhwali.<br />” <br />” Sunpat is the first film from Uttrakhand to be screened at IFFI. Director of the movie called the selection of Sunpat , a big achievement for their state. Set in a small village, it is a story of love and friendship blooming at the time of hopelessness.<br />” &nbsp;<br />” Hindi movie Alpha Beta Gamma and Niraye thathakalulla in Malyalam, Sunny in Malayalam and Taledanda in Kannada were part of the Indian Panorama’s Feature section.<br />” <br />” In World Panorama, 1000 dreams, Silent Land, Humanization, Captain Volkonogov escaped, The Girl and the Spider in international languages made it to day Four at IFFI. The Sun of that Moon in Baloch was the highlight of the World Panorama today. In International Competition category, movies including The First of the Fallen, Any Day Now, Land of Dreams were shown. &nbsp;<br />” <br />” This edition of IFFI is paying a special tribute to legendary actor Sean Connery, the first actor to portray the most famous fictional British spy, James Bond on the big screen, starring in seven Bond films between 1962 and 1983. In this section, his film 'The Untouchables' was screened for cine lovers.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<br />” <br />” Along with him, French director and producer Bertrand Tavernier was also paid a special tribute through his film A SUNDAY IN THE COUNTRY. Two Russian movies, Uncle Vanya and Runaway Train, both directed by Andrei Konchalovsky featured in Retrospective segment this afternoon. While Kannada movie Katha &nbsp;Sangama was also shown in same segment.<br />” <br />” Legendary Director Satyajit Ray’s Bengali movies Agantuk and Seemabaddha were also screened to pay tribute to him.<br />” <br />” A Special masterclass session on Scriptwriting by Sab John Edathattill was also organised. Online Platform Amazon Prime Video also conducted a Masterclass on ‘Creating Cinematic Success and Storytelling of Sardar Udham’ today at the ongoing 52nd edition of IFFI.&nbsp;<br />” &nbsp;
