Government has said that All India Radio should move towards Frequency Modulation Technology for clarity in transmission. Addressing the DRM India Platform Workshop in New Delhi, Prasar Bharati Chief Executive Officer, Jawhar Sircar said that there is need for utilisation of advance technology to reach out the commonman and there is also a need for developing infrastructure.

All India Radio's transmission is poised to be fully digitized by 2017, Seventy two transmitters have already been converted to DRM which will cover 70% of the country.
