Mourners in Iran assemble at General Soleimani's home town to pay their last respect

<span style="color: #222222;">A sea of black clad mourners have assembled in the home town of the slain General Soleimani to pay their last respect ahead of his burial. The burial is expected to take place on Tuesday at his home town Kerman, in South East of Iran.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Mourners packed the streets, beating their chests and chanting against America in a show of national unity everywhere the funeral procession was held. General Qassem Soleimani, the Head of the elite Quds Army, was killed in a targeted air strike by US Forces on Friday in Baghdad.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Earlier, the supreme leader of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had announced that a harsh and severe revenge awaits the criminals who killed General Soleimani. The situation in the middle east region continues to be tensed and fragile. Qasem Soleimani was an iconic figure in Iran and has played a huge role in executing the country's military campaigns across the Middle East. His death has now raised US-Iranian tensions to a new and dangerous level.</span><br />
