<div>Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu has said that mounting inequality and disparity in the distribution of wealth, economic and social opportunities in different parts of the world is a major challenge. </div>''<div><br />''</div>''<div>Addressing students of International Studies, University of Panama and other Panamanian Diplomats in Panama today, Mr Naidu said, politics should have have ethical principles embedded in every action and there is need to create a polity that respects each individual.</div>''<div><br />''</div>''<div>He said mounting threats of cyber security, terrorism, nuclear and chemical warfare have threatend the existence of mankind. </div>''<div></div>''<div>The Vice President also asked the students to march forward with a common goal, to be open-minded and work together in harmony. He said, despite expertise and mastery over the physical sciences, new and more powerful challenges have emerged in the wake of our technological, scientific, medical and other kinds of progress. </div>''<div><br />''</div>''<div>He further said that even though India and Panama might be thousands of miles apart, technology and innovation have brought everyone together. He said, challenges such as Corruption, discrimination, exploitation, violence, especially against women and violation of basic human rights continue to erode social fabric. </div>''<div></div>''<div>Later, the Vice President paid floral tribute to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Plaza Cinco de Mayo in Panama City.</div>
