In Kerala, normal life has been affected due to the dawn to dusk motor vehicle strike by different trade unions against the recent hike in petrol prices. Except private cars and two wheelers, traffic remains off the road across the state. In some places, the state transport corporation is operating convoy service with police protection. Our correspondent reports, essential services like milk and newspapers have been spared by the strikers. Government offices recorded thin attendance and shops and business establishments are closed. Congress led UDF has termed the strike as anti-people. Earlier, Chief Minister Ommen Chandy had announced the decision to bring down petrol price in Kerala by one rupee twenty two paise.
