Motor-bandh called upon Kerala by trade unions

In Kerala, the dawn-to-dusk state-wide motor bandh called by various trade unions owing allegiance to Left parties in protest against the petrol price hike, evoked mixed response in the central districts of the state.Private buses remained off the road, while Kerala State Road Transport Corporation buses, private cars and two wheelers plied as usual.Movement of goods from and to the Cochin Port was affected as trucks kept off the road. The strike did not affect the functioning of public sector enterprises in the region. No untoward incident has been reported from any part of the region so far.
